Maggie the Kelpie it is possible that was the oldest dog in the world, has lost the battle with time and died at 30 years, after falling asleep in her bed at her home in Victoria, Australia.
Her owner Brian has found Maggie collapsed in her bed after he arrived at the farm.
“She was still going along nicely last week,” her owner Brian McLaren, a dairy farmer, told the Weekly Times. “She was walking from the dairy to the office and growling at the cats and all that sort of thing. She just went downhill in two days and I said yesterday morning when I went home for lunch … ‘She hasn’t got long now’.”
Brian buried Maggie next to his other dog under the same pine tree. The documentation was lost when he was still a puppy, so it can accurately know how old , but according to Bryan came into their home when his son who is now 34 years old, was only four.
“I’m sad,” said Brian, “but I’m pleased she went the way she went.”
